Mailtrap, an email delivery platform, today announced its new integration with Supabase.
Namely, developers can now automatically configure their Supabase projects with Mailtrap’s SMTP credentials in seconds, bypassing the struggle of manual configuration and going well over Supabase sending limits.
Supabase makes it easy to build applications, but there is still a known friction point: email infrastructure. With a native limit of 2 emails per hour, Supabase may be enough for initial testing, but it’s impossible to support the workflow when the real users come in.
Moreover, finding and configuring an SMTP that actually works, copying the credentials between platforms, and verifying configurations can take time. That’s exactly where Mailtrap’s Supabase integration comes in.
Connecting Mailtrap to Supabase takes only a few minutes: users authorize with the Supabase account, Mailtrap’s SMTP credentials appear in their Supabase project’s settings, and they can send production-ready emails immediately. The integration works both with Cloud and self-hosted Supabase.
Mailtrap’s free plan users can send up to 150 emails per hour and 4,000 emails per month. This means that without changing the application code, developers can increase their sending capacity by 75x. Mailtrap paid plans scale from 10,000 to over 5 million emails per month.
It allows sending Supabase Auth emails, including signup confirmations, magic link authentication, password resets, and all types of database-triggered transactional emails and contact form notifications. For custom transactional emails sent via Edge Functions, developers can follow Mailtrap's separate implementation guide.
Furthermore, Mailtrap brings visibility to what's typically a black box. Developers can monitor delivery rates, debug bounces with detailed error logs, or track opens and clicks directly in the Mailtrap dashboard.
